What is Evisa for Vietnam?
Vietnam evisa or Vietnam electronic visa (symbolized as EV) has been introduced by the Vietnam Immigration Department since February 2, 2017. This kind of Vietnamese visa is applied and issued online.
An e-visa for Vietnam is valid for 30 days only with a single entry only.
After 2 years of suspension due to Covid-19, Vietnam evisa has been resumed since March 15, 2022, and follows the same regulations as before Covid-19.

E-visa Requirements
If you are eligible for a Vietnam e visa, please make sure to have the following items to get the e-visa:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months following arrival date and having at least 02 blank pages;
- 01 passport size photo (see Vietnam visa photo requirements)
- Soft copies of passport personal data page and soft photo
- Credit cards to make payment online for e-visa fee.
How to Get Vietnam Evisa
Here comes the full process of how to get an e-visa for Vietnam.
- Access to the Vietnam e-visa online official website www.vietnamvisas1.com > select Apply
- Number of Application: from 1 to 10 depend on how many persons you want to get evisa
- Type of visa: There is just available for E-visa for 30 days single entry. You can entry and exit Vietnam once within 30 days.
- Processing time: You can choose the time for e-visa processing as 4-5 working days, urgent service: 3 working days, 2 working days, 1 working days or 1/2 working day (4 hours) or 2 hours processing.
- Click on Next step button to go to next page of application (VISA DETAILS)
- On the new page, fill to the form with personal information request: Name, DOB, Nationality, Passport number, Email
- Date of arrival: This is intended entry date, your e-visa will be valid from this date.
- Intended entry gate: This is entry check-points such as airports, land ports and seaports you will enter Vietnam.
- Purpose of visit: You can choose any purpose to entry Vietnam such as: Tourism, Business, Working, Studying…
- Intended exit gate: This is entry check-points such as airports, land ports and seaports you will exit Vietnam.
- Intended temporary residential address in Viet Nam (*): This is residential address where you will stay during the time in Vietnam
Step 2: Confirmation and Payment
- After fill information to form and click on Next step, a new page appears and you can choose the option for payment. That is the way you will pay for visa service at final step, you can choose: 1 – Payment by Credit Card (via Onepay gate) or 2- Payment by Credit Card (via Paypal) or other way: by Bank or Western Union
- Click on Next step button to go to next page of application (CONFIRMATION), check the information again and click the Proceed to Payment button, you will go to secure payment gateway to pay.
- In this step our website will send you a confirmed email with your e-visa information. You can also check your “CHECK E-VISA STATUS” here: http://www.vietnamvisas1.com/en/check-status.html
- This e-visa fee is not refunded if your application is refused or your visa letter contains any wrong details since you provide incorrect details in the application form.
Step 3: Upload portrait and passport
Upload your personal photo and passport.
- Portrait photo (4x6cm): Looking straight and without glasses.
- Passport data page: Full page including photo, personal information and ICAO lines.

Step 4: Receive your Vietnam E-visa
- After your payment is completed, we process your e-visa with “Processing time” that you chose.
- We will send you e-visa through your registered email with PDF attached file.

Vietnam Evisa Fees & Processing time
An e-visa for Vietnam costs you 38 USD (per person with normal processing time 5 days). This fee is not refunded if your application is refused or your visa letter contains any wrong details since you provide incorrect details in the application form.
It normally takes 05 working days to receive the e-visa letter; however, the processing time may be affected by a large number of applicants or public holidays. As such, you should consider applying for this kind of visa 1-2 weeks before departure. You also can choose the Urgent processing 3 working days, Urgent 2 working days, Urgent 1 working day Urgent 1/2 day (4 hours) or Urgent 2 hours processing.

Vietnam Evisa Extension
You cannot extend a Vietnam e-visa now. In case you wish to remain in Vietnam after your e-visa expiry date, you are highly recommended to leave Vietnam for a neighboring country and then come back with a new evisa. This way is known as the Vietnam visa run.

Vietnam Evisa summary
- Vietnam e-visa is valid for 1 month in a single entry;
- E-visa cost is non-refundable, so ensure your application contains full information or contains no wrong details;
- Your port of entry granted on your e-visa is fixed, and you cannot change it after submitting your Vietnamese e-visa application or after your visa is issued. In case you change your port of entry, a new visa should be applied;
- Group application is accepted. Each person will get separate evisa letter.
- In case you want to visit Vietnam as a tourist but you are not eligible for an e-visa for Vietnam, please reschedule your travel until a tourist visa to be issued by the Vietnam embassy or on arrival is available again.
- Previously, e-visa could be extended in Vietnam, but its extension has been currently suspended until further notice.

Working day is from Monday to Friday (excluded Holidays) with working time 8AM to 11AM and 1PM to 4PM Vietnam time GMT+7. The fee is included stamp fee at the airport.
3- Extra Services (at the International Airport of Vietnam):
a- Support VIP service + Fast checking at Immigration Desk enter Vietnam: 30 USD/person
b- Support VIP service + Fast checking + Luggages at Immigration Desk enter Vietnam: 40 USD/person

No. When applying online for Vietnamese evisa, you are required to provide your port of entry. This port is fixed on the visa letter, and you are allowed to enter that port only.
In case you change your port of entry, you must apply for another visa.
Where you are not sure about the port of entry, and you are traveling to Vietnam by air, we highly recommend you apply for a visa on arrival for Vietnam as you can change the airport of arrival.

It normally takes 5 working days for the Vietnam Immigration Department to process your application for Vietnam e-visa.
However, the processing time may be longer due to the large number of applicants or public holidays. After entering Vietnam by e-Visa, you can request an agency/organization/individual in Vietnam to guarantee your stay and apply on your behalf for a new visa at the Vietnam Immigration Department.

Please be informed that your Vietnam e-visa validity starts from the date specified in your approved e-Visa document. You can enter Vietnam on any date within this validity.
