Vietnam reopen visa application (e-visa & visa on arrival) for citizens of Czech Republic starting from March 15, 2022

Updated: 08:41 PM - 22 Dec,2024

Because of the coronavirus outbreak, Vietnam has suspended the issuance of new visas for all foreign nationals including citizens of the Czech Republic last March 2020. This is to curb the spread of Covid 19, which has claimed the lives of thousands of people around the world

The government believes that by suspending the visa, they will be able to effectively stop the rapid spread of the virus. This is especially true for European countries, which have been badly affected and have reported thousands of confirmed cases. But the suspension is only temporary and now that things are slowly going back to normal, the ban on visa issuance has been lifted.

So if you are from the Czech Republic and you plan on going to Vietnam for your holiday, you’d be happy to know that you can now apply for a visa. There are two types of visas that Czechs can apply. One is the e-visa and the other is the visa on arrival.

Vietnam E-visa for Citizens of the Czech Republic

If you wanted an easy way of getting a visa to Vietnam, the e-visa is a great option. With this visa, you just need to go online and send in your application. There’s no need to leave your home, for as long as you’re able to connect to the Internet.

When applying for the Vietnam e-visa for citizens of the Czech Republic, the first thing to do is to go online and access the official website for the e-visa application. Choose the option to apply for the e-visa. You will then be asked to fill out the visa application form. So provide everything that’s asked from you, such as your name, nationality, and passport details. Make sure everything is correct to avoid any issues.

Prepare your card because you will be asked to pay for the processing fee online. You can also pay with PayPal. Take note that the processing fee is non-refundable. After making a payment, submit your application form and wait for an email.

You should be able to receive the status of your e-visa in 3 – 5 business days. When the visa is approved, download it and print a copy. This is already your visa and this is what you will use to enter Vietnam.

Vietnam Visa on Arrival for Citizens of the Czech Republic

Another type of visa that Czechs can apply for their trip to Vietnam is the Visa on Arrival. From the name itself, you can tell that this is the kind of visa that you can get at the airport when you arrive. But before you can get the visa, you’ll have to register online in advance.

In exchange, they will email you a pre-approval letter. The letter is what you will give to the Immigration at the airport together with your passport. They will then give you back your passport with the visa sticker.

Aside from the pre-approval letter, you will also need to submit other requirements at the airport in order to get your visa. You also need to submit a visa application form, passport-sized photos and pay for the stamping fee. Take note that they only accept cash payment for the stamping fee. You can pay in the US dollar currency or Vietnam dong.

Things to Keep In Mind

Remember that the Vietnam e-visa is a single-entry visa with a validity of 30 days. So if you plan on staying in Vietnam for longer than 30 days, this visa is not the best option for you.

The Visa on Arrival is a good option for longer stays. This visa will let you choose between single entry and multiple entries. Plus, you also have an option to stay for up to 90 days in the country. However, this visa can only be claimed from the airport. So if you plan on entering through the seaports or land borders, then this will not work for you.

Since Vietnam has just started issuing visas after the Covid 19 outbreak, they are expecting a surge of visa applications in the coming weeks. Therefore, try to apply for your visa as early as possible. There is also an option to pay for rush processing, where you can get your visa in as fast as 24 hours!

For those who need assistance in passing through the busy airports of Vietnam, there’s a fast track service that can help you with this. With their help, you don’t have to queue for long at the airport. They will process the visa on your behalf and you can wait comfortably on one side. Someone will personally meet you as you disembark from your flight and will escort you in passing through the airport terminal. This service is truly very convenient especially now that so many people will be back to traveling again.
