Northern Vietnam: Discover the Beauty of Fansipan and Ha Long Bay

In northern Vietnam, Fansipan, the highest mountain in Indochina, is an excellent choice for the National Day holiday thanks to its pleasant, cool climate and breathtaking mountain scenery.

September is also considered one of the most beautiful times to visit Fansipan. During this period, Muong Hoa Valley is covered in the golden hues of ripening rice, while the surrounding hills are brightened by red bougainvillea and orange crape myrtle flowers at elevations of around 3,000 meters.

One of the most impressive experiences is the solemn flag-raising ceremony held every day except Tuesday at the 3,143-meter summit of Fansipan. The Vietnamese national flag proudly flies above the sea of clouds, while the national anthem resonates across the majestic Hoang Lien Son mountain range.

Fansipan is also offering visitors a special cultural experience with its first-ever Brocade Festival, taking place from August 22 to September 6. The festival showcases the traditional linen weaving and brocade embroidery of the Mong, Red Dao, Thai, and Xa Pho ethnic communities through cultural performances, harvest celebrations, Xoe dancing, bamboo pole dancing, and traditional folk games.

Located not far from Hanoi, Ha Long Bay offers a wide variety of experiences that continue from daytime into the evening. The Lighthouse area has recently become a popular check-in destination, featuring a nostalgic harbor-inspired setting with views of Ha Long Bay and striking red sails.

After sunset, the city becomes even more vibrant. The “Prosperous Port” 3D Mapping show brings the story of this heritage destination to life through modern projection technology, accompanied by spectacular fireworks lighting up the sky over Bai Chay.

Meanwhile, the VUI-Fest Ha Long night market offers hundreds of distinctive food stalls, while Sun World Ha Long attracts younger visitors with a wide selection of exciting entertainment and amusement rides.

Sam Son Beach in Thanh Hoa is another appealing option for this year’s National Day holiday. Visitors can enjoy a spectacular fireworks display on the evening of September 1 at Lam Son Square in Hac Thanh Ward and Sam Son Beach Square, adding a festive highlight to the holiday.

Ha Nam is also expected to attract holidaymakers with Sun World Ha Nam water park, which is offering discounted admission through September 2. Meanwhile, Sun Sports City Ninh Binh and Times Square provide additional entertainment with water-music performances and high-altitude fireworks at 9:30 PM every Saturday, creating a lively atmosphere for visitors.

Central Vietnam: Experience the Festive Atmosphere at Ba Na Hills

In central Vietnam, Ba Na Hills in Da Nang continues to be one of the must-visit destinations for the holiday season. During the National Day celebrations, the iconic Golden Bridge is decorated with hundreds of Vietnamese national flags fluttering in the breeze.

From the mountain base to the French Village and surrounding dining areas, colorful decorations and patriotic music create a vibrant atmosphere filled with excitement and national pride.

With a single cable car ticket, visitors can enjoy the refreshing mountain climate on Chua Mountain while exploring a world-class entertainment complex. Travelers can watch exciting street performances such as “Malambo,” “Solar Warrior,” and “Love in the Sky,” explore Fantasy Park, Vietnam’s largest indoor amusement park, and take memorable photos among colorful flower gardens and Ba Na Hills’ famous architectural landmarks.

Other attractions, including the Light Interactive Art Space, a 40km/h speed slide, and Eric Kayser bakery, are also expected to remain popular with visitors during the September 2 holiday.

Southern Vietnam: Enjoy Beaches, Entertainment and Fireworks in Phu Quoc

In southern Vietnam, Phu Quoc remains one of the most popular destinations for holidays and Tet celebrations. During the National Day break, the southern part of the island offers visitors a combination of beautiful beaches, lively entertainment, spectacular sunsets, and nightly shows.

Travelers can relax on Bai Kem Beach, once recognized among the world’s most beautiful beaches; explore the vibrant Vui Phet night market; admire the sunset from the Kiss Bridge; and enjoy two multimedia performances accompanied by two spectacular fireworks displays each evening at Sunset Town.

A trip to southern Phu Quoc can be made even more memorable with a full-day adventure to Hon Thom Island. Visitors can experience Aquatopia Water Park, recognized among Asia’s top water parks, before ending the day at Santo Beach Club, where they can enjoy delicious food while taking in a breathtaking sunset over the sea.

Ba Den Mountain: A Patriotic National Day Experience

Ba Den Mountain in Tay Ninh is another excellent destination for the September 2 holiday. The mountain is filled with the vibrant red of Vietnamese national flags stretching from its base to the summit.

The highlight will be the flag-raising ceremony on the morning of September 2 at the mountaintop square, where the national flag will proudly fly above the clouds.

The summit will also host a special spiritual pottery exhibition, featuring hundreds of ceramic statues of young monks created by artist Nguyen Tuan and artisans from Phu Lang pottery village.

Another unique attraction is the Ba Den Mountain Leaf Market, a special cashless market taking place on September 2. Visitors can sample complimentary traditional dishes inspired by earlier generations and explore an exhibition that recreates the proud history of this sacred and historic mountain.

Vung Tau: A Convenient Getaway from Ho Chi Minh City

For travelers who prefer a destination close to Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau is an attractive choice. The coastal destination offers a water park featuring record-breaking rides and a wide range of entertainment for visitors of all ages.

As evening falls, Sun World Vung Tau transforms into a lively festival destination, featuring energetic pool parties, DJ performances, beachfront BBQ buffets, and spectacular fireworks displays every weekend.

From majestic mountains and cultural festivals in the north to world-class entertainment in central Vietnam and beautiful beaches and fireworks in the south, Vietnam offers an exciting variety of destinations for the September 2 National Day holiday. Whether you are seeking cultural experiences, outdoor adventures, beach relaxation, or festive entertainment, this holiday is a perfect opportunity to discover more of Vietnam’s diverse attractions and unforgettable experiences.
